How to run a workflow in Canvas

How to run a workflow in Canvas

Congrats! 🎉🎉

You now have a completed workflow setup, and it is now ready to run!

Single manual run

On the Workflows page, under Deployed, you will now see your completed workflow:

Unscheduled workflow

Running the workflow is as simple as pressing the run button ▶, either on the workflow card or in the workflow editor, which will cause the workflow to run immediately, but only once.

When a workflow completes a successful run:

  • The "Last run" time stamp will update to show reflect the time of the run.

  • The workflow status will show Ready

Scheduling workflows

Basic scheduling

Instead of running the workflow manually, you will probably want to schedule it to run automatically at a given interval. If the workflow is marked as Schedule Off, press the off button to turn the schedule on.
When the workflow is marked Schedule On it is on the selected schedule.

To choose a different schedule option press the 5 min button to see a list of options.

Advanced scheduling

There are also more advanced scheduling options available in the workflow editor settings.
Press the Configure button and you will be directed to workflow editor settings).

On the right side of the page you will see a “Schedule” section:

You can now schedule how often your workflow should run.

If you select Daily, you also get to choose what time during the day or night it should run.

You can also select Custom. Then you get to choose which day and time the workflow should run:

In this example the workflow is set to run once every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at 03:00 UTC.

Error

If there is a problem the status will instead show Error. Please contact our support team at support@connectmyapps.com.
